Scan quality
What makes a scan convert well: straight, 300 dpi, full page, good light.
A scan converts well when the page is flat and straight, the resolution is 300 dpi or better, the whole page is in frame, and there's no shadow across it. Most office copiers produce this by default. Phone photos usually don't unless taken with a scanning app.
The practical rule for a centre: if you'd be happy to photocopy from it, it will convert.
